WHO WE ARE

Rebuilding Together is the largest volunteer home rehabilitation organization in the United States with affiliates in 865 cities and towns in all 50 states. Rebuilding Together has rehabilitated over 63,000 houses and nonprofit facilities across the United States with more than 1.8 million volunteers donating over 20 million hours to help rehab and revitalize the homes of those less fortunate.

Started in 1990 through a partnership between the City of Valparaiso and Valparaiso University, Rebuilding Together - Valparaiso has brought volunteers together throughout the community to help the elderly, the disabled, the very low-income and in many cases, low-income homes with children.

Over the years, Rebuilding Together * Valparaiso has worked on over 300+ houses since its inception. Recently, Rebuilding Together * Valparaiso has accomplished the following:

• 2006 - 40 houses & nonprofit organizations.
• 2005 - 34 houses & nonprofit organizations.
• 2004 - 32 houses & nonprofit organizations.

Repair work includes roofs, gutter replacement, chimney repair or replacement, bathroom remodeling, plumbing, electrical work, floor repair or replacement, window and door repair or replacement, landscaping, and yard work.

Volunteers include both skilled and unskilled from throughout the community, from white collar professionals to college and university students. Rebuilding Together * Valparaiso averages over 500 volunteers each year.
